OPT extension applied and then H1 approved--what will be my status ?

Hi All,

I have a quick question:

My H1 approval was taking time and my OPT was expiring, so I applied for OPT extension. And guess what, 2 days after applying for OPT extension my H1 approval came. Moreover USCIS charged me 340 dollars for OPT extension application as well But the case is still pending.

But now I have a worry since my H1 was at Vermont and OPT extension is at California. What will happen now ? Will CA service center put me back on OPT extension and cancel my H1 approval ? Don't the service centers have a centralized system for updating people's status's by SSN ? I thought once H1 is approved your F1 ( and therefore OPT ) status is over ..right ?
