OCI & Renunciation application for myself and OCI for my daughter (minor) were sent together
timeline:
Mar 11 2014: application sent
Mar 18 2014: acknowledgement from BLS
Lost tracking due to BLS -> CKGS transition. Sent multiple emails to CKGS, got std response back.
June 10 2014: Emailed Consulate-> very helpful. Got a response same day: Renunciation done, however there is a delay in OCI and please bear with us.
June 18 2014: Recvd an email from Consulate that OCI cards and U-Visa are in Houston. please send ppt's and $20 cashiers check (or prepaid envelope). Replied that: prepaid envelope was provided to BLS and requested to confirm whether that was lost. Impressed by same day response! - yes the system shows pre-paid envelope was sent with package. However, send the $20 just in case the pre-paid envelope is lost during BLS/CKGS transition. If found, $20 will be sent back.
June 23 2014: Passport delivered to Consulate
June 28 2014: Received OCI cards, Passports and $20 cashier's check in mail!
