I saw the scanned copy of the our check(s).

1. The check showed up on 07/31/2006, but at the back has three dates..

A. On the back, right side where we endorse the checks
"For credit to the U.S. Treasury"
"DOJ/USINS...."
072406 ...
LIN$XXXXXXXX

B. In the middle (back of the check) : JUL 26 06

C. And the date on which showed up in the bank statement. : 07/31/06

2. The LIN # has a "dollar" $ sign (not an “asterisk” $) : LIN$XXXXXXXXX.

Is anyone else with similar LIN # ?

3. Of course, I cannot check my status on the site with this LIN#, I get an error.

4. Replacing the $ with a * takes me to someone else's status.

Check Cashed:

Hi there!

Ignore all numbers on the back of the check. They are for internal book keeping. On the front of the check, you should find a hand written number.

make it into LIN* and add enough '0' to make it 13 digits total. That will give you the receipt number.

Cheers!

I had same thing - on the back of the check there was WSC$xxxxxx number which was not valid. on the front of the check there was a 7 digit number. it required adding WSC*00 to make it into a receipt number. Make sure Nebraska still uses old code LIN instead of new (like California is not using WAC anymore for N-400, only WSC). And you will get you receipt notice in a couple of days!
good luck
