Notarized employment letter?

Notarized employment letter is a requirement not only for mumbai but for CP across the world.
Basically your company HR needs to type out an employment letter in your name on company letterhead and then your hr manager needs to sign it in front of a notary public and get the letter notarized. So essentially you should get a notarized employement letter!

i have a question related to this.
Some folks in the forum mentioned about some form ,I guess its called OF-140 or something like that which we need to take. But some people also told that the "employtemnt letter" itself is the OF-140 or whatever..
Can anyone shed some light on the above?

I have not heard of this form before, and would have heard a
lot if this was a requirement.
There is infact a form called 'Proof of Service' with the form
number OF-140 but this is not related to the process we
are discussing here.
Just carry a notarized employment letter.

Now, that's different! I sure have heard about this form.
OF-171 is the form number for the interview appointment
letter, which will come to you in Packet 4.
