The cousin of a good friend of mine was deported back to Brazil from the US around over a year ago for coccaine poss of 1.5 grams. He was brought here legally as a LPR at 4 yrs old, so he has been a LPR for 30 plus yrs. His parents are US citizens(his dad just died). He also has a US citizen born child but he is NOT married to a US citizen. All this guys family are US citizens, he has no family in Brazil.

Question is would this guy have any relief available with form i-212? The guy is a pain in the as-, doesn't work, ect....Would this be the correct form to fill out for any relief?

Please know that this question is on behalf of his family not myself, I am just trying to get any information....

Any responses are appriciated.
Thanx

I'm not entirely sure here... but if you are an LPR and they remove your LPR status and deport you that is VERY bad. He was removed for a very serious drug offense. Not sure any of his family members can really help out his situation.

Not to be the hind-sight guru, but, he should have gotten his citizenship a while ago (think you're elligible after 15 years if i'm not mistaken - which I very well could be) and he wouldn't have been *deported*.

Sorry to hear the circumstances, but the only thing I can suggest is that he get an awesome, and I mean AWESOME, lawyer to help him out. Or the lawyer might say there's nothing that can be done....

The very last paragraph is kinda what I think your friend's situation:

Most non-citizens who are deported from the US are not eligible to apply to return legally to the country for a period of from five to 20 years depending on their circumstances. But aggravated felons are permanently disqualified from ever returning to the US for any reason.
