my I-140 (NIW, VSC) approved on May 14 2003 (RD Apr 16 2003).
It really took a long time. Since I am on J1 Visa status, I need to get a waiver first and transfer to H1. this fall I will start a new job (tenure track faculty position) and the school will issue H1 visa.
While processing the waiver and H1 transfer, I am planning to apply for I-824 for consular processing. (my I-140 is on AOS)
For a personal reason, I really need to have GC ASAP. I am hoping CP will get me GC much faster than AOS.
But my worry is on J1. I am afraid that my current J1 waiver processing might make I-824 approval slow.
Does anyone know about this? Your advice and information are very much appreciated.
