Medical redidency on J2

Hi,

Does anybody know if a medical residency can be started on a J2 and later continued on a J1/H1?

J2 is permitted to work but I dont think any employer would hire anyone as a resident on J2. Even otherwise it the J1 that is permitted to be hired as a resident and not J2.
 
Hi Gourab:
Just got an update that yes one can join Resi on J2 and later continue on H1/J1 subject to the primary J1 fulfilling teh required requirements.
