I have been working here on an L-1B visa for 4 years. I came here hoping to stay, but my GC application now has almost no hope of completing in time, so I want to leave my job, spend a few months travelling around the country before returning to my homeland. I don't think I can stay without changing away from L-1B status.
Do I have any chance of moving to a B-2 visa, given that I sold my house and abandoned residence when I moved here? Obviously I did come here with the intent of staying but my need to leave at the end of a visitor visa is no different that the situation when my L-1B expires? I have more than sufficient funds for the duration of my intended stay.Will I need to show definite arrangements to depart when I apply? Can I apply myself, or will I need my company to apply on my behalf?
