J1 transfer for a faculty position during waiver

Hi all,

Recently, I have signed an offer letter for a tenure-track faculty position in a university. My work will start from early January 2011. Now I am a research assistant professor (non tenure-track) with a J1 visa. I have extended the J1 visa, which will be expired in 2012 (about two years left). I applied for J1 waiver in August this year, and currently I have a DOS recommendation letter and USCIS I-797C letter (Notice of Action). Here are my questions related to a tight timeline to apply for a H1B visa.

1. Can I transfer to a university as a tenure-track faculty member with a J1 visa?

2. In this case, a new DS-2019 with a new job description (or job skill) should be required... Do I need to process a waiver again for this new DS-2019 or would just the current waiver for the current DS-2019 be OK?

3. Which one is better?
- express H1B application (is it possible in terms of time? I have two months until being involved)
- or J1 transfer with a new DS-2019 and H1B application (is it easy?, not complex?)

Many thanks in advance.
