I read all threads posted in this forum. However i want to take your opinion on my complicated issue.
I am currently in US on J-1 research visa for two years Have done two different research fellowships.
I changed the institution as well as the research field after first year. In the first DS-2019 which was issued, it had HRR requirment mentioned under special skills section. and the next DS2019 which was issued by different institution does not have HRR clicked.
Also, I am doing these research fellowships with out any funding support from any goverment. I am on my self funding.
Now I am ECFMG certified (scores of 89 and 92 ) and have offer to join clinical fellowship. My present J-1 research visa will expire on June 30th.
I also have offer for extension of current research fellowship.
I ultimately desire to join residency in specialty branch.
What should I do to handle this situation. How should I get my visa changed. Which option is best for me to achieve my goal? What is th eimpact of HRR in my case, as my current DS2019 does not mention about it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
