Is it worth to apply for my GC, provided my h1b 6 yr limit.?

I am on h1b and six yr limit reaches by a month after mid 2006.
I was wondering if it is even worth for me asking my employer to apply for my GC.

Havent applied GC previously.

If you can file LC 365days before H1 expiration, it's worthwhile.
