Is birth certificate required for OCI for Indian born children?

Hi quick question please. Do we need to send the birth certificate with the OCI application for children who are born in India and had Indian passport (before the US citizenship)?. Thank you!

Not required. I did not send my child's oci approved without that.

If you send a copy their Indian passport, then you do not need to send in their Birth Certificate.
If you need to prove that they are eligible based on your past Indian citizenship, then you need to send their birth certificate, to prove their relationship to you.
