Hi,

Any body with recent interview experience at Newark?

Desikuda: I recall that you said you had your interview scheduled for November 18th. Trust it went well.
Was the interview, test and Oath, all done yesterday?
It will be very helpful if you could summarize your experiences here. THANKS.

Interview at newark, nj

My appointment time was at 9.06 AM. I got there at 8.30 AM, We had to stand in a line to get into the bldg. After waiting till 9.35 we got in the bldg(It was very cold and windy, If you have interview in winter dress very warmly). Once inside placed the appointment letter. Was called for interview at 11.15 and my wife at 11.45. Oath was at 12.45 and out of bldg at 1.00.

1. No sequence in which they call for interview. People who came in after me where called first.
2. 10 questions from standard 100 questions.
3. I was asked to write answers. My wife was asked to read them out.
4. Few more questions from N-400 application confirming what you have already answered.
5. Asked about my age when I got my GC( for Selective services)

Few more things they verified like trips abroad, address, name, employer.....

Hope this is helpfull.

Desikuda and others,

I am wondering if Newark still has interview and oath on the same day.
The notification letter I received talks only about interview although it says the place is "Interview and Oath Ceremony Site". I am scheduled for February 6th.
Did the letter that Desikuda or the others received say anything about "If you pass the interview, you will be sworn in...."

I am eager to find this out a potential job is on hold for me for this reason. Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks.

I called INS this morning and asked about same day Oath and Interview process.

The answer was "if the building is same they do it the same day" but it all depends upon the local office.

Also the word "initial" means the actual interview.

The way they explained is that INS considers Interview as initial interview and Oath as the final interview.

Oath

AS far as I know its on the same day. Unfortunately I don't have the original letter as INS takes it away during interview.

Newark had been doing the Oath on same day for few years.
