Infopass appointment in DC

I am trying to make an appointment for Infopass. I went to the infopass appointment website of USCIS and found there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. So does it mean even though i dont get my EAD within 90 days, i have nowhere to go to check my status?

I can't seem to get one either. I have been trying for over a month now.
I went over to the INS office and they did not entertain me.

YOU JUST HAVE TO GET AN APPT............

I can't understand how. No matter when I try, it just isn't available.
