Immigration to Canada under Skilled workers category

Hi.

Does anyone know about the process of Immigration to Canada under skilled workers category for a person who is on H1 status in USA, and how long does it take to get the file number from canadian immigration office when you appy under this category. Thanks.

hi:
on the canadian site www.cic.gc.ca you can download the forms and guide kit for skilled workers and i received my file number in 40 days that was last year aug 04.
