Hi everyone. I have a question about I-20 transferring.
My friend is transferring her I-20 from school A to school B while she has not completed her program in school A. Her I-20 expired in this transferring process, and school B has not issued her new I-20. Does she still have 60-days grace period? If not, would the expiration of her current I-20 be a problem? She still wants to complete her program in school A while enrolled in school B, and the International Student Office in school A said this is fine since she does not need to register any classes in school A (she only has incomplete thesis left to fulfill the program requirement in school A).
The reason why she did not apply for extension of current I-20 is that she did not expect this transferring process to take such a long time. Currently it is the season of new admission, and schools are busy.
Thank you for your time. Please help if you know anything about this situation.
