I 140 Unapproved; H1 B about to expire

I have an EAD and I am waiting for I 140 approval.

But in the mean time my H1B is getting expired by Sept 29th 2003

I filed for i140 in Nov 2002.

Can I continue working on EAD and wait for I140 Approval.

Or will be risk taking without doing H1 extension and if there is any problem in I140 approval


Will there be any denials in I140 approvals.
