My wife is 19 yrs old us citizen, we have been married a few months , however i am not sure if that is too young to file for me based on our marriage. There is a 10 yrs age difference
How old are you?
If you are 10yrs (or more) older than her, you might have some potential problems... I hope you are less than 29.
When a USC spouse is 19 yrs young, its likely that USCIS might suspect that she is being taken advantage of.
I'm not trying to be judgmental - but your wife should have gone to college first before getting married. Otherwise, I wish your young marriage the best...
A USC spouse can be under 18 and still file an I-130. The problems come with the I-864 in that case. However, she is 19 and old enough to sign a contract which is what the I-864 is.
She has to file an I-864 but can she meet the income requirements? If not she will need a co-sponsor. Does she have one? OR if you are wealthy enough an I-864W is possible.
