Can anyone tell me if I asked my employer to sponsor green card for me today, how many years do I need to wait to get my green card. I live in Atlanta and I am originally from Singapore.

Depends on which state you live-- Here is how to find out.

There are 3 stages to GC.
1. labor certification - 3months to 2 years (go for RIR)
2. 140 petion 2-6 months
3. Adjustment of status 1 year or consular processing 6 months

Go go immigration-law and check timing for state you live in.
Labor certification has 2 parts (state and regional) so check both timings...

If I am not mistaken, Atlanta should be under TSC.

Currently, TSC is one of the slowest service center. It might take a few years to get your Green Card approved...besides applying for employment based GC, you should also try the Green Card lottery...

Just because he lives in Atlanta does not mean that\'s where the LC will be filed

Sometimes (usually) it\'s better to file for the corporate headquarters if a change of work location is possible. Maybe Atlanta, maybe somewhere else.
