How many days will it take to get SSN?

I applied for SSN in second week of may,they din\'t give me anything when i applied ,they only said that they have to check with INS & i will receive a letter in 4 to 6 weeks...
Does anyone have any idea how many days will it take to get the SSN?
 
It is the same to me

SSA said that my EAD A# does not in the computer system and need ins verification. They told me that I should get it in 6 weeks.
It is sacks, they put us an other way to wait!

Did anybody got SS number after L2..EAD.

I applied my SS befor 3 week but not received yet. I went again to SS office today....They said your application is panding....They are not finding record in computer.....It will take some time to update new EAD record.

Is any one facing same problem...Please help me.
 
she applied in 1st week of april card received in last saturday.

NJ. If you call the 800 number to check the status you will not get
any information...you just have to wait!
 
my dependant got SSN in just a week !!

My daughter applied her SS card at SSA San Jose downtown office on 6/14
just after getting iEAD at INS San Jose office on the same day.
I found that she received her SS card today(6/21).

I wonder if there was any improvement at INS (and SSA) or it\'s just lucky ?
