H4 stamping --original I797 of H1

i'm in USA and my wife & kid are appeareing for H4 visa in mumbai consulate. Am i supposed to send my Original Notice Of Action(I797) or photo copy with attestation?
I'll be travelling to India after 2 months and I have to get stamped .So will I be able to travel without my original approval notice as my wife will be having it with her.
What should I do?Please some one help
 
Going out of US without 797 is not a problem. Only while coming back you'll have to carry along.
Better to have orignal 797 while H4 interview.
