H1B Valid date issue

My employer applied 7th year H1B extension on Last Sep 2, 2004 at VSC. It approved on March 04, 2005 and valid date showing that March 04, 2005 – August 29, 2005 (6 months instead of 1 year). Same thing happen for my wife H4 also.

Could you please tell me it is INS error or they approved only 6 months?

I would like to do 8th year extension with another employer. At this time it will create any problem?
