Getting married after K-1 Visa

Hello All,

I want to bring my fiancee to the US on a K-1 visa. According the INS the K-1 visa is only valid for one entry into the country. We are planning to travel from the continental US and getting married on the US Virgin Islands. Does anyone knows if this will be considered leaving the US? Will the marriage recognized by the US government?

Thanks for any info.

Usually the marriage needs to take place in the "home country" of the person coming to the US on a K-1..Double check and make sure since I don't believe the K visa is valid for multiple entries.

or, once you enter the US on a K visa, you have 90 days to get married and apply for change of status.
