FP appointment on the Saturday of Thanksgiving week?

My friend filed for AOS and received his first FP notice today. The appointment has been scheduled for 11/24/2007 (Saturday), which is the date after the thanksgiving.

Is this normal? He doubts if it's a typo.

Very normal, I had mine on a saturday as well.

You bring the turkey drumstick to the FP appt, fingers dripping turkey gravy and canberry sauce... It should be a scene...a ritual..celebration of life... I heard that they will actually serve you a thanksgiving meal during your FP time there..... so why miss a free meal....from USCIS...
