I applied for citizenship over one year ago with Charleston, SC office, was scheduled and appeared for biometrics appx one month later, and haven't heard anything since. I've been GC holder for over 36 years, married to American for over 47 years and two American children, spent four years in the US Air Force with Honorable Discharge, haven't ever even had a parking ticket, so the criminal part should be no issue, but can't seem to get anywhere with this process. I've even contacted my SC Senator, Congressional Representative and they can't seem to get to the bottom of this mess. They tell them they're waiting for my background check, but after 14 months, the background check should be done. Anyone else have this problem?

you can contact CIS Ombudsman office ASAP
https://cisomb.dhs.gov/oca/form7001.aspx
you can file a lawsuit under 120 days delay

The 120 day rule does not apply before you've had your interview. You'll have to file a Writ of Mandamus, I think. But first, contact congressperson, senators, ombudsman, etc.
