Here is a scenario:
He is currently an H-1 worker. The company is downsizing and he might be out of a job by February.
If they would get married in spring (she has a GC), after his termination, could he stay in US and obtain legal status based on the marriage?
Could he work anywhere he wants (unlike H-1) after they submit the marriage papers to INS? Basically could the marriage save his legal status in US.
How long is the process. Is it years and years...?
