Extend H1 or wait for EAD?

Hi,

Hope this one is correct forum.

Don't know what to decide. Please help me.

My I-140 approved on Nov 30th 2006 from NSC. 485, EAD and AP applied on Nov 11th 2006 in Nebraska SC. Finger Prints done on 26th Dec 2006. My questions are:

My current H1 VISA expires on 31st March 2007.

1. When do I get EAD?
2. Should I apply for H1 and H4 (wife) extensions around 1st weekd of March ?

Hope I may get it soon. Still thinking to apply for H1 extension so that no worries for another 3 years since I-140 is approved.

You can wait until the last week when your H1 is expiring. You have to apply for extension before the expiration - even 1 days is fine. So, prepare the whole applicationa and keep it ready to file. In case, the EAD doesn't come, just file the application.

Do you know though, if EAD applications can get stuck in name / security checks? Or is the 75 day period is very predictable for everyone?
