Enter to US 15 days and return home 2 months. Is it ok?

I already got the immigrant visa and it will expire in July. I'm thinking to enter to the US in April at LA port of entry for 15 days or until SSN arrive then I will go back to my home country about 2 months to finish my job and return to US permanent.
Is it ok for me to do that? Do I have to be required any paper to get back to US?

Sure, thats ok. All you need is you passport with the temp. GC (I-551)

Does he need to wait for the SSN to be completed and card to arrive before coming home or can that be processed while one is out of the country?

He can use the I-551 stamp in the passport to leave and come back.
