Effect of overstaying on visitor's visa

Hello Everyone !

what are the effects of someone either overstaying the autorized stay on a visitor's visa or working for someone while on the B-2 status ? I read that the person could be barred from the united states for 3-10 years depending on the situation. Is this true ?

How would such an act affect the status of the sponcers of the visitor's visa in question ?

I94 determines ones legal stay in usa (i guess you would have already known this)

If a person overstays more than 180 days -- 3 years ban
overstays 1 year -- 10 years ban.

Since the new system is a used (exit-entry)
It will be very difficult for someone to enter usa if they have overstayed before. (follow the link)

As for working illegally, if caught, they will be deported.
