Veterans, please provide a critical comment on my chance of EB1-EA (My I-140 based on EB2-NIW is already approved)
Credentials
Now my questions are:
Thanks,
--HH
Credentials
- Ph.D. (non-US) with 10 international journal papers, ~15 conference publications
- about 60+ citations (first author citations alone ~ 25), citations in 2 thesis, citations in couple of patents, my work has been cited in one of the web databases on work related to international security
- can get 8 letters
- have been in the Masters thesis defense committee of one student and PhD proposal committee of 1 student (US university)
- membership of SigmaXi (nominated- aren't all the SigmaXi always nominated ?) and other two paid memberships
- no reviewing work
- have done work (and published) in different fields (eg., Mathematics, Biology, Electronics)
- documentation of the alien's membership in associations in the field for which classification is sought, which require outstanding achievements of their members, as judged by recognized national or international experts in their disciplines or fields
- evidence of the alien's participation, either individually or on a panel, as a judge of the work of others in the same or an allied field of specification for which classification is sought
- evidence of the alien's original scientific, scholarly, artistic, athletic, or business-related contributions of major significance in the field
- evidence of the alien's authorship of scholarly articles in the field, in
professional or major trade publications or other major media- Publications
- Sigma Xi (nominated), and two other paid memberships. I doubt this will fly- even if SigmaXi is nominated, I doubt it will count- because almost any one can get `nominated'. Also, paid memberships do not count, as I understand
- Serving thesis committee. Shaky here- because, I had seen (in this forum) people receiving RFE asking `why serving thesis committee is `outside' your normal job duties'
- Recommendation letters and citations
- Journal publications
Now my questions are:
- What is your overall opinion on claiming the above criteria ?
- Have any one successful with claiming SigmaXi membership ?
- If, in your opinion, I will not be able to make a strong claim on 2 and 4, then can I some how use my credentials item number, vii, (worked in different fields) to show that I am `extraordinary able'- if so, which USCIS criteria that would fit in ? (eg., I can produce a bar chart showing how many people in my field venture in to other fields and have published in those fields)
Thanks,
--HH
