Earlier fingerprinting at San Jose?

I am scheduled for FP on 8/9. However, I have a potential business trip that would conflict with it. So I was thinking of doing FP earlier.

Does anyone have experience in doing FP earlier than scheduled at San Jose INS application support center? Do I need to call them or just show up? Did you had to take any proof of the business trip (or other reason for the need for earlier fingerprinting)?

Raju,

Just show up and San Jose CIS office will fingerprint you. Usually there is no one there, so they dont ask any questions. My experience is from a year ago, we went in 1 month before our scheduled appt and they fingerprinted us, no questions asked.
 
Fingerprinting done...

I just came back from fingerprinting. The security guy did check the appointment date and talked to the front desk guys, who were okay with earlier fingerprinting.

The center was virtually empty and we had everything done in about 15 minutes.

Thanks gc_despo for suggesting to just show up and thank to dilipjaju for giving better directions to the center. Yahoo and Google are both quite off.
