Did anyone have the experience of handling this situation when there was a gap in the validity periods of your old and new EAD's.
If you were working, did you have to resign or just took unpaid leave for the gap? ... or any other option

You can not work with expired EAD, despite others do, and if you accumulate 180 days your GC application will be adversely affected to the extent of denial. You have to leave the work, unpaid leave is the best option.
