EAD Expired and Should I go for New or Renewal?

Though I was holding EAD( First) I was working on my H1 and my EAD will expire on 01/22/06 and I am not planning to file to renew the EAD. I want to use my H1 for rest of the year 2006 and my question is when my H1 expires(12/01/06) do I need to file for a new EAD or Renew the one which is expired.

Any comments will be appreciated greatly

Why take chances renew now

Why take chances, renew your EAD/AP, keep your case and file ticking.
My story is also similar to yours: still on H1 and just filed for my third renewal.

There's really no such thing as a renewal, so I'd just wait until about 4 months before the H1 expires and get the new EAD. However, if you have any doubts whatsoever about your job security I'd keep the EAD as a backup.
