EAC numbering system

Any guru,

I have a question. My ND for I-485 is Oct1st, 2002. But, my EAC is EAC03001XXXXX. I thought the first two digits 03 represent the year. Should mine be 02 instead of 03? It seems the numbering system doesn't apply on my case. Any idea?

Thanks

BCIS goes by its own calender year. I think their year end is Sept.

Some other Oct02 filers can clarify if it's the same for them..

their year starts Oct 1 - so you are a part of the 2002-2003 year, and hence the number 03!

Similarly people who filed in Nov, Dec of 2001 have numbers starting 02....

EAC-yy-ddd-5**** is the format..

EAC is for Vermont, LIN for Nebraska etc.
yy is 2 digit year...Oct marks the beginning of the year.
and ddd is the 3digit days
so 1st October2002 would be EAC-03-001

Hope this helps

Oct. 1 is the beginning of the government fiscal year. BCIS is a government organization -- ergo, they follow the same calendar.
