but if you look very sober in dv2009 results, you will see only 14000 people from Asia were selected!
then I am almost sure that they changed the numbering method and any one with CN<40000 finally will have an interview!
It's simple math:
last years, highest CN was about 14000 , and we heard this year 38000 !
so compare to last year I think this is your CN based on old numbering method:
CN:1000 means 350 in old method!
CN:5000 means 1750 in old method!
CN:10000 means 3500 in old method!
CN:15000 means 5250 in old method!
CN:20000 means 7000 in old method!
CN:25000 means 8750 in old method!
CN:30000 means 10500 in old method!
CN:35000 means 12250 in old method!
CN:40000 means 14000 in old method!
I also have better news:
I think they will keep sending NL up to 55000 until end of june!
then my CN will be about 8700 in old method!

By the way I'm don't know if I'd get a chance to the interview. I've read some winners story and one of them(2008AS00017XXX)didn't even get the chance to the interview till now, if he/she didn't get it before September, then i think I've got no chance, because my CN is so much higher than his/her one.
I just don't really understand how those numbers work, would i get the chance to the Interview(if i filled my form up correctly?). I've received my letter the end of May(Letter was printed on 7th May) and, I've sent it back to KCC on 16th June 2008. Hopefully i'll have a good news. High CN = Disqualification
It is more an issue of how many of the 99,000 people initially selected will meet the requirements at the embassy or during AOS. If you check the US Dept of State website visa statistics http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/statistics/statistics_4179.html , you will find a complete list of information about what transpires each year.
So just remember, if you have a high visa number, do not start wondering whether you will be called to interview. If your territory becomes current, then you will get your chance to interview. The high CN number simply means that on the interview line, you are at the tail end and will be considered only when the region fails to get enough persons to meet its quota (Thats when the region becomes "Current".
