Duration to be in USA for filling EAD

Hi all,

I am in US these days on L2 visa as a dependent of my husband. he is working here on L1 visa. I need toi file for EAD but i will be in US for 1 month only. How long it is required to be in US for filling and getting EAD.
Can it be like if I file for EAD and go back to India and my husband can collect it from here.
 
If you stay in the U.S. only for a month, why do you need an EAD in the first place?
You're not going to have an EAD in a month.
 
Apply immediately after you return to the U.S.

When you apply for an EAD you need to turn in a copy of I-94. If USCIS finds out that you went outside the U.S., it complicates the EAD processing.
