Documents needed when returning back to USA

Dear all,

My wife is going to Sri Lanka and will be coming back after 4.5 months(from 28th Aug 2011 to 16th Jan 2012). We(myself, Wife and SOn) came to USA 8 months ago and we have our GC and SSN.

I suppose , she can come back to USA without any difficulty since she will be out of USA only for 4.5 months.

Is there any other documents required to bring other than the passport, GC and SS card when returning back to USA

up to 6 month should be no questions asked.
however, if I were you I'd be prepared to give a clear answer containing a definitive reason for the absence should there be a question.

you don't need an SSN when re-entering, just a greencard (up o 6 month)

Iam Planning to travel to USA end of Nov 2011, stay for three weeks ,then come back home.
I will finish ony four months ,then go back to settle.
What document will I need to trave back, since my visa would have expired?
