Combining CP and marriage

I am getting married about a week before my interview. I had some questions and was hoping that somebody here could give me an answer or atleast a clue

a) Is it better to courier my wife\'s papers or go and give it in person (Chennai consulate) ?
b) What are the chances of getting the interview together ? Is there any known cutoffs for this ?
