Canadian H1 travel to China

I am a canadian citizen currently holding a H1 visa. I plan to travel to China next month. In order to return to US, do I need to apply for a new H1 visa while in China?

As a Canadian, you never had an H1 visa to begin with.

Not quite sure what you mean by "canadian cannot have H1 visa part". Care to explain?

Canadians do not have visas, and can enter based on an approved petition alone. Did you have an interview at a US consulate?

The short answer is that you can re-enter the US based on a copy of your H-1 approval notice, nothing more required.

No, I did not have an interview at a US consulate. I was privously on TN visa and changed to H1 one year ago. So it's a wonderful I don't need to apply for another visa.

Again, you never applied for a Visa. You entered on TN status, and now you will enter on H1 status.
