Can I change company after getting my Interim EAD

I am expecting to get my Interim EAD sometime in Oct. And my current assignment ends next friday i.e. Sept 21st.
I am not 100% sure that my company would find another assignment soon. There is little chance that I could get an assignment at one of my previous cliemtson my own but the company would not take H1 people. I was just wondering whether I can change jobs after I get my EAD. My relations with my current consulting company are very good. They would not damage my current process if I leave the company.

has it been 6 months/180 days since your 485 got applied?

If yes, you can change employers. If not, I would say not to change job and ask your current employer to keep you on the payroll. the idea it not to have your name listed on another company\'s payroll until you pass the 180 days period.
