Called VSC to chech status on I-485 case and What does this mean?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,
I called VSC yesterday morning and asked the lady why there was a delay in the approval... she mentioned that the case is waiting on some information...

she also said that she cannot tell me on what the reason/information is....as per the VSC rules.. can anyone tell me what that could be...

1) I asked her if there is an RFE on the I-485 case...reply was NO.
2) I asked if it is waiting on name check...reply was NO.
3) I asked if it is waiting on any FBI related...reply was NO.

As the case is on a normal processing time she asked me to wait and see for another 60 days (she said it is up to me if i want to open an expiediate request).

Also, I got an RFE on AP in FEB-14th on digital photos and i sent them back to INS on MAR-2nd, till now i did not get any information on it....how long does it take to approve the RFE on AP case.

I-485 : ???

Can anyone please answer my question ?

Is this normal. Can anyone please answer my question ?

If you case is filed in EB3, it could be waiting for a visa number to become available. The priority date for EB3 for IND is 4/02, it has to go past your LC filing date(priority date) for you to get a visa number.

Mine is EB2 case

You should initiate an enquiry, its one of the options that says if your case is past the current processing dates published, they will reply within 30 days, this way it will atleast get their attention.

X2K for give my ignorance but can you please let me know how you were able to call the VSC ?

Thanks

A tip for calling the Vermont center - I found in previous thread here

A tip for calling the Vermont center

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally got the VSC center

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please call the 1-800-375-5283 NSC and follow the below steps. Here is the sequence of steps i followed to get to this:

Press 1 (for english),
press 2 (for existing case),
press 6 (for case statues etc),
then press 1( for knowing your receipt no.),
enter the receipt # to get the automated response saying blah blah blah and also at the end saying this is the most upto date information on your case and our customer the same info national customer service agents have (i totally agree with this).
Then choose to continue to the next step "press 3" . choose 3
Listen to the options-
Option 4 "if you feel if you submitted together and one of the applications is left out and not processed (don't remmember the exact message text ..but something about companion case "

You get transferred to VSC after choosing option 4.

If you call after VSC operating hours you will be asked to call the National Service center with this message
""there are no immigration officers at this service center at this time, please call the USCIS national customer service center".

Hope this helps!
