Hi Everyone! Can a tourist or visitor buy a car in the US while he has a valid B1 visa? He/She has a valid US drivers license but has no SSN....

Please advise.....Many Thanks!
 
If you buy with all money down, I think it is possible. If you need financing, I don't think it is possible.
 
What about registration/insurance/property taxes to be paid on the car.... THis requires SSN...Its not very clear if you have a SSN ???Do you ???

Definitely he can buy a car, but may not qualify for a loan. Insurance premium may be high, some insurer may not insure it.

Yes you can buy anything on B1 visa, No financing though.

For a car, you would need USA drivers licence to get it registered in your name
you can apply for a CA drivers licence with valid B1 status

so everything possible other than financing
