I'm on B1/B2 visa. I already graduated in a university but interested in taking some art classes here. Can I take 1 credit / non-credit class in a community college? If not, can I take 1 continuing education class?

Will this hold against me since they will have a record of me taking a class? even though if it is continuing ed. (for example: arts or photography or foreign language or music)?

Alright I'll answer my own question :p

A person with tourist visa can only take NON-CREDIT classes, such as continuing education classes in the US.

A student visa is needed for any class that has credits. Also, they cannot audit credit classes.

I had recently asked the same question and tried to investigate what the answer could be, it is all very vague ... where did you get your answer from? Also, do you intend to mention that you will be taking a short course at the POE upon arrival in the US?
