Automatic Revalidation and HiB status

I entered US in Aug 2001 with F1 visa. This expires in Aug 2006.

In Jan 2005, my status changed to H1B.

I need to visit Canada in Apr 2006 for PR stamping.
Can I use the Automatic Revalidation program to re-enter US?
