Congrats on your approval. This is the first time I have heard anything about ADIT. Please post us with updates once you get the written notices.

cheers,

ADIT is...

An ADIT stamp is a stamp added to an individual's passport or I-94 (Arrival -Departure Record) as proof of "temporary" permanent residency status.

May or may not. They may ask you to stamp your passport first and then send the card or straight away send the plastic. It is my guess.

Congratulations! Enjoy your freedom!
ADIT could mean biometrics for card production (if you haven't done Code3 FP and done only Code1)

Not sure what ADIT is...

...However, when I was interviewed at the local district office (when they transferred my case from NSC), I had to sign on a metal plate and get my picture taken. That info. apparently is used to produce the GC.

However, I will see no updates on e-mail as my case "RESTS in PEACE" with a local Officer who's probably vacationing in Bahamas right now.

I'm curious about guys who received their approvals and did not have to go through an interview...which picture and signature is being used on your card?

Is it the I-485 filing picture? Mine was filed over four years ago, for eg, so wouldn't that be considered too old a pic to be used to produce the GC?

Just curious!

PS: As my luck (or lack thereof) would have it, I've yet to see any updates and frankly, knowing what I know, I'm not too optimistic.

Zero Updates in about 2 1/2 years on I-485, which was applied in July 2003

Allina11,

Does that mean there is any more process involved in getting the physical card?

Getting the passport stamped is optional .. Say if you want to travel outside the country and you do not have the card yet .. then the stamp on the passport would serve as a green card. But now a days they do produce the card as soon as 485 is approved and Biometrics done. So for most NO need for a stamping.

Enjoy the GC...

ADIT - Don't worry guys....

I think it's just an old message....these days...the Physical Card is just enough....

I think, if somebody does not get the physical card in mail...then they may need ADIT stamping etc....So, for all of us...IT DOESN'T REALLY APPLY!

Congrats on being liberated !!

Congrats looks like you r through with some minor wrinkles remaining.
Its great to hear some progress from NSC.. But looks like there is no specific order in which they pick up the files my PD is Jan-2002 and still no updates

I think it is purely a gamble..

When we take infopass after the approval of i485, it goes through the ADIT process to stamp your passport with I551 stamping valid for one year. You do not need green card to travel outside the US.

Mumbai123,
Thanks for the info.
I anyways made my Infopass appointment for the 8th as I have travel plans this month.

Will give more updates as they happen.

ADIT - Alien Documentation, Identification & Telecommunications System (ADIT Photo's no longer used by the USCIS )

ADIT refers to biometrics. What the approval notice is stating is that you will get your GC within 60 days or when you complete any ADIT processing that still needs to occur.

Some people are getting their GC approved without an up to date ADIT file. So the application is approved and an ADIT request is made. Once you complete it, they send you the card.

The old I-551 stamp was also refered to as an ADIT stamp, but I don't think that's what they are refering to here.

Don't worry about it, it's the standard message. I got the same one and they just sent out the card a week later.

Congratulations btw! It's great to see these old cases getting approved.
