AFter Passport Stamping do we need to change our SSN card

Guys,
After passport do we need to go SSN office and have to applied for new SSN card for out family. Currently in old it says on SSN card as with Valid INS something.
Do we need to change our SSN card.?
What do we need to take with us?
Would that change our current SSN number as well.

Any help is
 
After the stamp, most people I know goes for the updated SS card. I heard somewhere that these days the SSA people advices that after getting I-551 stamp, a person waits 3 weeks and then applies for the new card. The reasoning is - USCIS records might take a while to get updated.

Another good reason to get a new card is - if you have the working restriction comment on the card - the new card will not have that.
