Please share your thoughts on this. I am thinking about if the INS can not approve 485 case in 180 days, they have no reason to ask for RFE on recent pay stub. Because in theory you can stay home after 180 days. In this economic, most people is getting half pay or less, such as helper and myself. Worry about this a lot. Please share your thoughts on this theory.

After 180 days and RFE

I applied my 485 in Oct 99- EB3 India- My priority date became current on May 1, 2001. On May 3, 2001, INS issued RFE for W2s, 1040s for last 3 years and 4 most recent paystubs. Note that this happened after 19 months of RD/ND of Oct 99.
INS can do anything and they can also do nothing.

Same boat
Am in the same boat. INS issued RFE for W-2 (3 years), 4 most recent paystubs and company letter.
They did not ask for 1040. My RD/ND was Sep 99 and RFE reply was received according to
AVM on 6/21. No luck after that.
Have been seeing cases whose RFE was a later date getting approved.
The IIO just indicated that case is pending.
