11/2001 RFE case approved

Guys,

It gives me a great pleasure to announce that my I-485 is approved after a long frustrating wait.
Just saw the approval online and was so relieved. Thank God! The wait is finally over.
I would like to sincerely thank you all for your valuable openion/suggestions and support during this long journey.
Thanks to Mr. Rajiv Khanna for maintaining this site. This forum is great!.
Here are my details:

I-485 RD: 11/2001
ND: 12/2001
FP1: 4/2002
AR-11(1): 8/2002
Lost job in 11/2002 (after 1 year of filing I-485)
5 months without job.
New Job: 04/2003 (Consulting job on W2 with salary 20% less than labor)
RFE: 05/2003 (for Employment letter, 2 months paystubs, 2 yrs. tax returns)
Thank God! only 2 months paystubs were asked.
Waited 2 months to collect 2 months paystubs (as per lawyer's suggestion) and then replied to RFE in July/2003.
AR-11 (2): 8/2003
FP2: 11/2003
FP3: 02/2004
In 03/2004 initiated a status inquiry with VSC. Got a reply from VSC last week saying that the case is under review
and it will take 90 to 120 days more.

And finally the day I was waiting for... 23 April 2004 I-485 APPROVED.
My wife's case is also approved. For some reason I couldn't find my son's status. Does anybody know why ?

For all those who are still waiting for a long time... you approval will come soon.... just have patience.

Did you by any chance register on the new website?

Curious to know if you got any notifications for something?

In the light of november approvals........... SAM99 make me more confident that your case is only 2 WEEKS AWAY!(i told you earlier)

After 99 years i'll be something to get some Green Card, right SAM99????:)

I didn't register on any website. I used to
check the status regularly. But, recently I gave up on checking the status.

Well, I guess... all that goes "Not so well" also ends well.


Does anybody know what is the next step ?
After getting the approval notice, do we have to call up INS office to take an appointment for stamping ?
What are the docs required for stamping apart from the passport ?
