I work as a consultant at one of our client sites. A consulting company processed my H1 visa and they are doing all the payroll and w2 forms for me.
I got into a situation where my client requested me that he got some additional work for me and he wants to pay me directly for this additional work and he wants to give me 1099 at the end of the year.
Basically he wants to avoid my consulting company for this work as their charging is too expensive. Thats why he wants to negotiate with me and avoid the consulting company.
My question is can I accept the check from the client and take 1099 from them, keeping in view I am a H1 holder or any other methods where I can accept the payment from the client??
Any type of input/tips is highly appreciated...
