I got a voluntary departure order about fourteen years ago for overstaying my visa but I never left. Recently I married a US citizen and filed for my green card, at the interview the officer told me that he could not approve my GC until he knew who had jurisdiction on my case. There is no final...
CP in DELHI
you can call the delhi consulate and ask about the interview schedule ( I am not aware of the timing)
I do know that you have to email them and call them regarding background checks.
I had called them on the day i left for Delhi - which was three to four days before my interview...
Attorneys fees
Thank for replying so soon. Do you know how much the attorneys fees would be in Texas - just an average guess would be great too.
Thanks a ton
Can anyone please tell me how much it will cost me to get the RN visa through an attorney. I have a clinic that will sponsor my visa but will not pay for it. Any help will be greatly apprecitated !!

Medical
I got my medical done at Apollo in Delhi (April 2005) and received the results about 48 hours later. Apparently they have to wait for that long.
Notary
You have two options:
Find a Justice of Peace and he can notarize it
or
Go to a Court in India (any Magistrate or other court) and you will find some one there (court official) who can notarize it for you.
NWD Interview
I would advise you to call the consulate within a month of them receiving your papers. I recently had an interview and it was scheduled pretty soon without me getting any letters about it. Just call them and ask them an approximate date I am sure they'll be able to help.
I-134
You will need to fill the I-134 and notarize it in US itself.
Form DS 230 Part II is to be signed in the presence of the officer in India. Your attorney can fill and complete the DS 230 form but you sign it in in India.
Fee
I just had my interview on April 18 in NWD and they only asked me to pay the extra $45 in USD cash or Demand draft apart from the VIsa fee bill $335.

Name Check
You need to send them an email (what I did)
Include your case number
Name, date of birth, any other names used
Date of Interview
Also include all the other family members who are interviewing with you.
Thank you
You have to initiate the name check process for the consulate in which you have your interview as soon as you arrive in India (via email or visitng the consulate personally).
There is a list of documents on this forum itself (under this section in "while waiting for interview). I...
